FlowRebels is inspired by the thinking of psychologist and wellbeing philosopher, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
Dubbed ‘The father of flow’ Mihaly’s studies and teachings are centered on the benefits of moving through certain zones and states.
He studied and put a name to the psychological concept of ‘flow’.
He describes it as full immersion in, and enjoyment of, an activity – the optimal mental state in which productivity is at its highest.
He identified that flow state relies on a balance between challenge and skill, clear goals, immediate feedback, and a sense of control over the activity.
And he believes that achieving flow leads to greater happiness and fulfilment as we engage deeply with our work or passions, practice creativity and feed our personal growth.
His thinking inspires our doing.

A balance that involves four vital energies we go through in daily life.
Focus: Locking in when we need to push ourselves to meet a challenge beyond our current ability.
Flow: Reaching the psychological state in which we can perform our best.
Control: Feeling the sense of our skill surpassing the challenge.
Relaxation: Removing challenge to feel the recharging powers of contentment.
